After they mate the female gives birth. If the female has twins she picks one and abandons the other one for it to die up in the mountains. When the cub is born they are very small, pink, blind and furless. The cubs usually weigh about 150 grams when they are born or they can weigh about 5 ounces. After 18 months they live on their own. It takes 3-5 months for a panda to give birth after mating. Pandas can only have two babies in their life time.
